A collage of augmented and naturalistic worlds built thorough the machine of interpreted folklore that is yet to be. Compositions created to blend the perspectives of 3 imagined beings struggling to free themselves from displacement and destruction.
Told through fragmented structures, blissful ambient passages, and barrages of noise, Built2Crawl captures worlds of generative landscapes into a single entity. Through a “self concrète” approach to composition the songs were sculpted and reassembled out of dense midi passages that were stitched together from long-form jams created using a number of custom maxmsp patches.
The album was inspired by early ambient records, 00’s console games, gritty high fantasy, and a section of the Interdependence podcast during a discussion on the struggle for Primacy.
