Flexuous Vertex is Philadelphia musician Andy Loebs’ first release for Orange Milk, and when I announced the album multiple people said the same thing “finally you’re working with Andy!” This is the kind of free electronic music we do love, shifting between genres like weird smooth jazz, prog rock, nu metal, glitching electronics, MIDI-core, Goo-core and a lot more. The shifts can be rapid, the first listen establishes a heavy mood that you sink into and get lost with, but you return for the ideas, there’s so much going on musically, it’s the kind of thing I crave deciphering. I need to mention that the album is also extremely fun and catchy, if you couldn’t tell by the art and presentation, definitely a sort of pink, purple, and baby blue vibe.
